Snapchat is rolling out sponsored AI agents

Snapchat has launched a new advertising format called AI Sponsored Snaps, which integrates AI-powered brand agents directly into users’ chat feeds. This innovation allows Snapchat users to interact in real time with conversational AI developed by brands, enabling a more engaging and personalized ad experience. Instead of passively seeing advertisements, users can ask questions, get product recommendations, and explore services without leaving the chat interface, making the ad experience more seamless and interactive.

This move marks a significant shift in digital advertising, positioning conversation as prime real estate for engagement and conversion. Brands can build AI agents that personalize interactions within Snapchat’s main Chat tab, which hosts billions of conversations, turning these chats into a direct path from interaction to purchase. For example, Experian, one of the launch partners, offers an AI agent that helps users with credit and money management questions, demonstrating how financial services can leverage the format.

The introduction of AI Sponsored Snaps builds on Snapchat’s already successful Sponsored Snaps ads, which have shown improved conversion rates and lower costs per action compared to other ad formats.
