NVIDIA and Synopsys have announced an expanded strategic partnership aimed at integrating NVIDIA’s advanced AI and accelerated computing technologies into Synopsys’ engineering software portfolio. This collaboration targets a broad range of compute-intensive applications used in semiconductor chip design, physical verification, molecular simulations, electromagnetic analysis, optical simulation, and other engineering domains. By leveraging NVIDIA’s CUDA-X libraries and specialized AI physics technologies, Synopsys aims to significantly accelerate and optimize these computational workflows.

A key aspect of this partnership is the advancement of agentic AI in engineering processes. The companies are embedding Synopsys’ AgentEngineer technology with NVIDIA’s agentic AI stack, which includes NVIDIA NIM microservices, the NeMo Agent Toolkit, and Nemotron models. This integration enables autonomous design capabilities in electronic design automation (EDA) and simulation workflows, potentially transforming how engineers design and verify complex semiconductor devices and other precision components.

Beyond technology, NVIDIA has also made a significant financial investment, acquiring $2 billion of Synopsys stock, underscoring the strategic importance of this relationship. This collaboration is part of NVIDIA’s broader AI strategy to extend accelerated computing and autonomous AI solutions across critical engineering sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and industrial design.
