Permanence has announced that its AI Coder is being employed by RDK Management to significantly improve software integrity and speed up feature development. Leveraging dozens of AI-generated pull requests, this collaboration aims to automate and streamline software maintenance tasks, which traditionally consume significant developer resources. The integration of Permanence’s AI capabilities allows RDK software engineers to apply AI-driven automation safely and efficiently, reducing the manual effort involved in repetitive and maintenance-related coding tasks. This not only enhances software quality but also accelerates the development cycle, enabling faster delivery of new features.
RDK is a large open-source community comprised of more than 700 companies, including CPE manufacturers, SoC vendors, software developers, and service providers. This partnership reflects both Permanence and RDK’s commitment to fostering innovation and productivity within open-source software ecosystems by harnessing AI technologies.
Joseph Hackman, CEO of Permanence, highlighted the excitement around joining such a vibrant development community and emphasized the AI Coder’s role in supporting RDK’s engineers by automating valuable yet tedious code improvements. Permanence specializes in AI solutions that focus on automating security enhancements and software maintenance, which aligns well with RDK’s goals for improving software robustness and reliability in a collaborative environment. This use case underscores the growing role of AI in transforming software engineering workflows and open-source project management.
