OpenAI has acquired the entire team of Convogo, an AI startup specializing in automating leadership assessments for tech companies. Convogo’s core offering involved software that streamlines leadership evaluations by leveraging AI to analyze interviews, surveys, and psychometric data. This acqui-hire comprises Convogo’s three co-founders—Matt Cooper, Evan Cater, and Mike Gillett—who are joining OpenAI to contribute to its broader AI cloud strategy. Notably, OpenAI is not acquiring Convogo’s intellectual property or technology; instead, Convogo’s product will be discontinued following the deal.
This acquisition is OpenAI’s ninth within a single year, underscoring its aggressive talent acquisition approach to bolster its AI capabilities and strengthen its ecosystem.
