A collection of markdown rules files teaches AI coding agents to handle landing page design consistently. Install via CLI for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Windsurf.
elayadesign/ai-design-skills reached 13,144 stars on GitHub and is gaining 1,187 stars per day. The repository packages design instructions as self-contained markdown files that integrate with AI coding agents through their native rules systems.
What it is
Each skill is a markdown rules file that teaches an AI agent how to approach a specific design task. The first skill, landing-page-design, covers intake questions, page structure, conversion copy, and a complete visual system including typography, spacing, border radius, and motion rules. The README notes that more skills are in development.
How to install
The easiest path uses the skills CLI, which requires Node.js:
npx skills add elayadesign/ai-design-skills
This command lists available skills and prompts you to choose which ones to install and which agents to target. You can skip the prompts with flags:
--skill landing-page-designinstalls one skill-a claude-code -a cursortargets specific agents-ginstalls user-level instead of project-level--listshows what is available without installing
Skills land in .claude/skills/ for Claude Code and .agents/skills/ for Cursor, Codex and other agents. Run npx skills update later to pull changes.
Manual install is also supported. For Claude Code, clone the repo and copy the skills folder into .claude/skills/. For Cursor, curl the SKILL.md file into .cursor/rules or paste it into Settings → Rules for AI. Codex, Windsurf, and Cline have their own paths: AGENTS.md, .windsurfrules, and .clinerules respectively. Claude.ai users can download the SKILL.md and upload it to a Project or attach it to a chat.
Customization and licensing
Each skill stores its design values—fonts, colors, spacing, motion—in a single section near the bottom of the file. The README describes forking the repo, editing that section, and letting the rest of the skill follow automatically. The project is MIT licensed, so you can use it, fork it, edit it, and ship what you build without attribution.
