Google Cloud has entered a multi-year partnership with Replit, an AI-powered coding startup, aiming to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing AI coding tools market and directly compete with players like Anthropic and Cursor. Replit, which has seen explosive growth including a reported increase in annual revenue from $2.8 million to $150 million within a year, will deepen its use of Google Cloud’s infrastructure and integrate more of Google’s AI models, including the Gemini 3 model, into its platform. This partnership is designed to support a variety of enterprise AI coding use cases, expanding beyond traditional developer roles to include product, design, sales, marketing, and operations teams. The goal is to advance “vibe coding,” a concept highlighted by Replit’s CEO Amjad Masad, where AI-powered collaborative coding tools enable a wider range of employees to contribute to software development. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian emphasized that the deal would accelerate the adoption of AI-driven coding in enterprises by making these tools more accessible.
