Over 25,000 students in Andhra Pradesh government schools are being equipped with practical training in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics as part of a government-led initiative aimed at promoting STEM education. This program, known as CyAILS (Cyient AI Lab for Schools), utilizes tools such as OpenAI platforms and AI kits to simplify complex technology concepts, making them accessible to rural and semi-urban students. The initiative reflects a strategic emphasis by Andhra Pradesh’s education authorities on integrating emerging technologies into the curriculum from the high school level.
The government has also established AI, STEM, and robotics labs in 50 schools within the Visakhapatnam district, supported by a Rs 8 crore investment. Andhra Pradesh’s Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh highlighted this effort during the inauguration of these labs, emphasizing the state’s commitment to nurturing tech-savvy youth capable of contributing to future innovation ecosystems. The lab infrastructure and curriculum are designed to provide hands-on experience, encouraging problem-solving and creativity in AI and robotics fields.
